What Is Full-Dimension Rough Sawn Lumber?

Full-dimension rough sawn lumber is cut to true thickness and width, not planed down to nominal sizing like store-bought lumber. Rough sawn boards come straight from the mill, retaining their full structural size, natural texture, and strength.

Because the lumber is not surfaced, you get more material per board foot, a stronger final product, and the flexibility to either leave it rough for a rustic look or plane it later to your desired finish.

Benefits of Rough Sawn, Full-Dimension Lumber

-
True full size (not reduced by planing)
-
Stronger and heavier than dimensional lumber
-
Higher yield per board foot
-
Natural rough texture for rustic or traditional builds
-
Excellent for outdoor use, framing, barns, sheds, saunas, cottages, and cabins
-
Can be planed, sanded, or finished later if required
All lumber listed below is rough sawn, full dimension, and priced by board foot (bdft).
